The GAVRT Project presented three workshops on radio astronomy for teachers at the Hispanic Engineering Science and Technology (HESTEC) Week held at the University of Texas Pan American October 13 - 16.

GAVRT Live! was held during an exciting community night held at UTPA as students, parents, and teachers connected with the Operations Control Center located at the Lewis Center for Educational Research in Apple Valley, California. Participants from the community took measurements of a black hole and a distant radio galaxy as they controlled the DSS-12 radio telescope (located in California’s Mojave Desert) over the Internet!
