The 2003 Uranus Campaign
What's around the bend of Uranus?
![]() |
Each year, we see more and more of the North Pole on Uranus. This is the first year that we are seeing the North Pole as bright. The question is – How bright is it? Is it as bright as the South Pole or not? Some scientists, called Atmospheric Dynamicists, expect the North Pole will be as bright as the South. |
The bright clouds in this image are not related to the bright orange image on the right hand side of the radio image. |
There is some data of radio frequencies that suggest it will be dimmer than the South Pole. What will the new data tell us? Join us and find out! To sign up for this special mission, contact Kim Bunnell in our Operations Control Center (760-946-5414 ext. 234). |

Measuring Uranus involves using cross scans. Instructions as to how do perform cross scans will be given to you prior to your antenna session. |
