Tornadoes, Rainbows & Wind

A Student-Facilitated Program for Cross Age Learning

Bring your Pre-K through 2nd grade classes to learn about tornadoes, rainbows, wind and other aspects of weather. This is a student-facilitated program for cross age learning. Upper elementary students from The Academy for Academic Excellence, here on our Mojave River Campus, are trained to guide Pre-K through 2nd grade students in learning about our weather.

Students rotate through 8 different stations within a 1-hour hands-on program. Here is what the students learn about, including 2 "Make & Take" projects:

  • Making Clouds
  • Tornadoes
  • Wind Racing
  • Matching Game
  • Which Way the Wind
  • Hot & Cold Air
  • Clouds in the Sky
  • Making Rainbows
