GAVRT

The Goldstone-Apple Valley Radio Telescope (GAVRT) project is a partnership with NASA, The Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) and the Lewis Center for Educational Research (LCER). The program introduces students to radio astronomy and the processes associated with the scientific community. Preliminary research conducted by the LCER indicates that students who participate in GAVRT increase their scientific efficacy. Scientific Efficacy is a student's perception of their ability to perform tasks and use thinking skills associated with the scientific process.
