Local Programs

The Lewis Center for Education Research is committed to extending the classroom to the community and beyond with local science and social studies programs, which align with the State of California Board of Education Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards.

Since its opening in 1990, the Lewis Center has hosted more than 110,000 students, teachers, and parents participating in field trips, clubs, and other hands-on educational activities.

Our Local Outreach Programs are implemented by our dedicated volunteers. The Lewis Center Volunteers consist of former teachers, businesspersons, and the community-at-large who share their time and talents with children of all ages from the High Desert and beyond.
