Engineering Mentorship Program

The Lewis Center's Local Outreach Department presents our Engineering Mentorship Program! High school students with a passion for STEM will be hosting engineering workshops for elementary students. Engineering is all about problem solving. They believe that by sharing their passion for STEM with the younger students, they can inspire future engineers! This program was initiated by an AAE Girl Scout as her Silver Award project for our AAE students.

Thank you for your support the past 2 years during our after school workshops!  Your donations helped to raise enough money for the EMP program to purchase an Earthquake table and donate it to AAE!  This amazing earthquake table can be used for students in K-12th grade.

EMP has now moved the the ELOP ProgramThe Extended Learning Opportunity Program is a perfect place for EMP to continue. Starting in April 2023, K-5th grade students will learn about Civil Engineering.  They will design and build structures and test them on the Earthquake table. High School Engineering Interns will guide students through the Engineering Design Process during this 8 week class. See the ELOP website for more information.
