The Academy for Academic Excellence (AAE) is a K-12 charter school in which new teaching techniques and strategies are tested and refined in a standards-based educational program. It is located on three campuses:
Thunderbird: The original Thunderbird campus now serves as the AAE's K-1 elementary campus as well as the Center's optical observatory and aviation center.
Corwin: In the summer of 2009, the Center leased a recently closed private school we now call the Corwin Campus that houses AAE's 2-4 elementary.
Mojave River: The 150-acre campus at the Mojave River Narrows, which opened in August 2000, serves as our 5-6 elementary, middle and high school campus and includes our operations center for our distance learning programs, including radio astronomy. The campus is also ideally situated both for classroom learning and for outdoor, environmental educational programs in the fragile river wildlands.
The mission of the Academy for Academic Excellence is to research, develop and implement innovative educational programs based on applied science to maximize each student's potential to become honorable, courageous, generous citizens and highly effective learners.
