The Academy for Academic Excellence (AAE) is a K-12 charter school in which new teaching techniques and strategies are tested and refined in a standards-based educational program. It is located on three campuses:
Thunderbird Campus: The original Thunderbird campus now serves as the AAE's K-1 elementary campus as well as the Center's optical observatory and aviation center.
Corwin Campus: In the summer of 2009 the Lewis Center leased a recently closed private school that houses AAE's 2-4 elementary.
Mojave River Campus: The 150-acre campus at the Mojave River Narrows, which opened in August 2000, serves as our 5-6 elementary, middle and high school campus and includes our mission control center for our global programs, including radio astronomy. The campus is also ideally situated both for classroom learning and for outdoor, environmental educational programs in the fragile river wildlands.
The Academy for Academic Excellence exists to prepare students for post-secondary success through a relevant, rigorous college preparatory education.
